Palomino Port

overview:          A true white port style, possessing the ‘grip’ and dry finish that distinguishes it from lighter sweet dessert whites. Gold Medal Fortified Class and Nitschke Furniture Trophy for Best Alternative Style of Show 2008 Marananga Regional Wine Show.

 

 

Winemaking:     Vintage from old-vine Barossa fruit, entirely on-skins in the Ducellier-Isman Fermenter to achieve maximum body.

 

maturation:        Aged in French Vosges Oak Hogsheads.

 

colour:               Deep amber.

 

nose:                Combination of mature fruit and French Oak.  Nutty, a slight rancio character.  Spirit strength is unobtrusive.

 

 

palate:              Firm, full and balanced between tannic dryness and sweetness of aged Palomino fruit.
